Instantly vs Lemlist

A volume email machine against a multichannel outreach platform, with verified 2026 pricing.

I have run cold email campaigns through Instantly, so this comparison leans on real use, not just pricing pages. Instantly is built around unlimited connected inboxes, included warmup, and raw sending volume, starting at $47 a month. lemlist charges more, starting at $69, but bundles LinkedIn steps, calling, and a contact database into multichannel sequences. The real decision is whether your outbound is one channel at high volume or several channels at higher touch.

Pricing

Instantly splits its pricing three ways, and the advertised entry prices are the outreach-only plans. Growth is $47 a month for 5,000 emails and 1,000 uploaded contacts, with unlimited email accounts and warmup included. Hypergrowth is $97 for 125,000 emails and 25,000 contacts. Light Speed is $358 for 500,000 emails, 100,000 contacts, and dedicated sending infrastructure. The bundle plans, which add a 450M-contact lead database, enrichment credits, and Instantly's AI agents, run $94 (Starter), $194 (Scale), and $555 (Agency) a month, roughly 10 percent less on annual billing.

lemlist keeps it to two self-serve plans plus Enterprise. Email is $69 a month, or $55 on annual billing, and covers 50,000 sends a month with the 650M-contact database and email and phone finder included. Multichannel is $109, or $87 annually, and adds LinkedIn automation, built-in calling, SMS, and unlimited sending. Contact finding runs on credits at one cent each: a verified email costs 5 credits and a phone number 20, so a thousand verified emails works out to about $50.

When to pick Instantly

Pick Instantly when outbound for you means email at volume. Its whole design assumes you will connect many inboxes, warm them constantly, rotate sending across them, and feed campaigns from big lists. The unlimited-inbox policy at $47 is the headline: tools that charge per seat or per sender get expensive fast once you run ten or twenty mailboxes.

When I ran my own campaigns on it, the parts that mattered were mundane and solid: warmup ran without babysitting, the unified inbox kept replies in one place, and the campaign editor stayed out of the way. The community is also large, so most problems you hit are already answered in a tutorial somewhere.

One caveat from that experience: the tool makes volume easy, and volume without list quality burns domains. Budget for verification, and expect the real work to be in your list and your offer, not in the software.

When to pick lemlist

Pick lemlist when your prospects are worth more than one channel. Its Multichannel plan sequences email, LinkedIn touches, and phone calls in one flow, which fits selling into smaller, higher-value markets where 200 well-researched prospects beat 20,000 scraped ones. The personalization features, like dynamic images and custom variables throughout, are built for that style of outreach.

The pricing favors teams. Plans include unlimited users, so a three-person SDR team pays the same platform fee as a solo founder, which flips the cost comparison against per-seat tools. The built-in email and phone finder also means one subscription can cover both sourcing and outreach for smaller operations.

Be honest with yourself about the LinkedIn piece, though. Automating LinkedIn activity is against LinkedIn's terms of service, and restricted accounts are a real risk. If your sellers' LinkedIn profiles matter to your business, use those features conservatively.

What most comparisons miss

The two price lists do not measure the same things, so line-by-line comparisons mislead. Instantly meters emails sent and contacts uploaded; lemlist meters channels and finder credits while leaving users unlimited. A solo sender doing high volume finds Instantly cheaper per email. A small team doing multichannel finds lemlist cheaper per seat. Neither is simply the cheap option.

Instantly's advertised $47 also is not the product most buyers end up on. The lead database, enrichment, and AI features sit in the bundle plans starting at $94, so if you need data and sending together, compare $94 against lemlist's $69, not $47 against $69.

And the platform fee is rarely the biggest line item. At real volume you are also paying for domains, mailboxes, and list verification, and in my own setup those costs passed the software subscription. Whichever tool you pick, the deliverability work of ramping volume slowly and keeping lists clean stays yours, not the vendor's.

My verdict

If your model is high-volume email, Instantly is the better-shaped tool and the cheaper one at scale. If your model is fewer, better-researched prospects touched across email, LinkedIn, and phone, lemlist justifies its higher price, especially for teams, since users are unlimited. I have only run production campaigns on Instantly, and my honest takeaway applies to both: the platform matters less than the list and the offer. Choose the one shaped like your motion and spend the saved attention there.
