  2. Note which domains appear in the top 10 across multiple queries
  3. Those are your real SEO competitors

This frequently reveals competitors you hadn't considered (affiliate sites, industry blogs, trade publications).

For each of your competitor's top pages, ask: "Could I produce something better? What's my angle?"

"Better" means at least one of: more depth, more recent data, original research, unique case studies, clearer structure, better UX, or coverage of a sub-topic they missed.
